Almost there

Posted in Miscellaneous on September 21st, 2006

And yes, Fantasycon is so very very close… and even now we’re getting last minute requests for things in the programme (too late to add to the pocket programme, so pay attention to the noticeboard for last minute additions…)

One thing that may interest those of you that can’t come (or those of you that can and have a radio with you…) The utterly fabulous Juliet E. McKenna, Mark Chadbourn, Marie O’Regan & Paul Kane will be appearing on Radio 2 on Friday evening (talking Fcon and all things genre) - somewhere between 10pm and Midnight… Juliet tells all on her blog… http://jemck.livejournal.com/ There’s a rumour that there may be bits from Clive Barker, Neil Gaiman & Chris Fowler as well, but that’s not confirmed…

AGM bits…

BFS members - don’t forget, the AGM is your chance to have your say about the BFS… it’s on Sunday, 11pm, in the main room.

One of the things on the agenda is some proposed changes to the constitution (updating a few sections, mainly) - copies of the proposed changes will be around the Registration desk if you want an advance look, otherwise it’ll be distributed Sunday morning…

Membership Deal

If you’re not a BFS member, you can join up at a discounted rate this weekend. Forms will be in your goodie bags or scattered around the foyer and registration desk - just hand it in to one of the Headless Chickens and you’re in!

Pre-registration for next year

We haven’t quite got the venue for next year, but the provisional date is 21st - 23rd September 2007. If you want to take a chance and pre book, the forms will also be flying around the Con area…

BFS Books

We’re launching the fab and groovy BFS: A Celebration book on Friday - if you’re a BFS member, you’ll get one free as part of your membership (we’ll be foisting them on you when you sign in to Fcon) - if not, copies will be available for sale from the BFS table.

We also have copies of other BFS Publications for sale at special Fcon discounted rates…

Odd bits

There is NO SMOKING (from any part of your body) in the main area - this includes the Dealers Room, the Con bar and the foyers where Registration & the BFS table are. Smoking is allowed in the main hotel bar (the one next to the restaurant).
Please be careful where you put your drinks in the Dealers Room - wet bottoms are no-one’s friend.

Please do not remove display material unless permission is given by Fcon Committee members.

Please make sure you have lots of fun (and if you don’t, tell us why…)
